  • I'm Delighted

I highly recommend this business for gorgeous, unusual quality ethical items. I purchased a beautiful linen scarf and flax [jute] shoulder bag online. Promt service, beautifully packaged and shipped quickly. I'm delighted with my purchase.

  • Beautiful & Brings Delight

I have just received another perfect order and I love it. Every piece that I ordered is beautiful and wearing them brings delight. I wore my green scarf to work this morning and I must say it made my drab outfit
into something special. I love your taste Ingrid and the quality of each item.
    Thank you.

    Carolyn Schofield.

  • Wonderful, Quality Products

Purchased a lovely Egyptian red bag and it arrived promptly, and very
prettily wrapped. Am so happy to be able to support a small business, with such
wonderful quality products. So happy, thank you.

BORN OF DUST & WONDER

Inspired by Travel, Led by Passion -

35 Years of Weaving Stories.

In 1989, I stood in front of the Great Pyramids of Egypt; wide-eyed, humbled, and forever changed. That moment sparked a bold decision: to leave my full-time job and begin a creative journey that would become Where The Wilde Things Are.

Launched in 1990, my business began with handcrafted jewellery, bridal headpieces, and one-of-a-kind accessories. Over the past 35 years, it has grown into an online destination for sustainable fashion accessories, artisan-made crossbody bags, and travel-inspired designs from around the world.

Each piece I design, make or curate tells a story; be it of a place, of people or of purpose. Designed for modern explorers and thoughtful travellers, our collection blends ethical craftsmanship with relaxed, natural style.

Thank you for being part of this beautiful adventure, meant for those drawn to the uncommon, the meaningful, the made-to-last.
